Do your students have challenging behaviour that is difficult to manage? If the answer is yes then this workshop is for you.
It will provide an introduction of broad-spectrum behaviour analysis in the form of the Pyramid Approach to Education. We will discuss why the creation of effective learning environments is a key element in effective behaviour management intervention. The Pyramid model stresses that functional activities and functional communication skills backed by powerful reinforcement systems are critical elements to designing effective interventions.
We also will review the importance of understanding the function of the behaviour target in order to effectively identify functionally equivalent alternative behaviours. Finally, we will review data collection strategies as well as ethical obligations associated with implementing any intervention plan.
